Bang Bang Bodhisattva (Hardcover): Aubrey Wood Bang Bang Bodhisattva (Hardcover)
Aubrey Wood
R340 Discovery Miles 3 400 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

This punk ain’t feelin’ lucky. It’s 2032 and we live in the worst cyberpunk future. Kiera is gigging her ass off to keep the lights on, but her polycule’s social score is so dismal they’re about to lose their crib. That’s why she’s out here chasing cheaters with Angel Herrera, a luddite P.I. who thinks this is The Big Sleep. Then the latest job cuts too deep—hired to locate Herrera’s ex-best friend (who’s also Kiera’s pro bono attorney), they find him murdered instead. Their only lead: a stick of Nag Champa incense dropped at the scene. Next thing Kiera knows, her new crush turns up missing—sans a hand (the real one, not the cybernetic), and there’s the familiar stink of sandalwood across the apartment. Two crimes, two sticks of incense, Kiera framed for both. She told Herrera to lose her number, but now the old man might be her only way out of this bullshit... A fast-talker with a heart of gold, Bang Bang Bodhisattva is both an odd-couple buddy comedy that never knows when to shut up and an exploration of finding yourself and your people in an ever-mutable world.

Double bill of rauchy comedies by Frankie 'Titter Ye Not' Howerd, the outrageously camp and bawdy British comic. 'Up Pompeii' (1971) is the feature length spin-off from the Howerd's television series about a lazy slave living in ancient Pompeii. When a document falls into his hands listing the names of those plotting to assassinate Emperor Nero, he is forced to infiltrate the group. Hilarious mishaps result. In 'Up The Chastity Belt' (1971) Lurkalot (Frankie Howerd) is a humble serf in Custard Castle, who runs a side-line selling chastity belts and love potions at the local market place. He's called upon to save the day when Sir Braggart De Bombast attempts to seize the castle and kidnap the beautiful Lobelia De Custard.

The War Chief of the Six Nations A Chronicle of Joseph Brant is volume 16 of the Chronicles of Canada Series. Thayendanegea (Joseph Brant) (1743 - 1807) was a Mohawk military and political leader who was associated with Great Britain during and after the American Revolution. Brant was not born to a leadership role in the Iroquois League but gained his importance through his connections to British officials. During the Revolutionary War he led Mohawk and colonial Loyalists against the Americans. After the war, he moved to Canada, where he remained a prominent leader.

The entire second season of the 1970s BBC sci-fi series. 'Redemption' sees Orac's prediction of the Liberator's destruction looking likely to be fulfilled when the ship's original owners arrive and take the rebels prisoner. In 'Shadow', Blake becomes involved with an interplanetary crime syndicate. 'Weapon' sees Blake and crew set out to steal a deadly 'delayed-effect' gun, which Servalan also wishes to possess. In 'Horizon', the Liberator heads for the edge of the Galaxy, only to be taken prisoner on the planet Horizon. 'Pressure Point' sees Blake attempting to destroy the Federation's control centre, only to walk into a trap set by Travis. In 'Trial', Travis is made a scapegoat by Servalan for their failure to capture Blake. 'Killer' sees Blake and his crew stumbling upon a derelict spaceship whilst on a mission to crack the Federation's new transmission code. The craft houses a deadly plague which could threaten the existence of the entire universe. In 'Hostage', Travis tries to trap Blake by kidnapping his cousin, Inga. 'Countdown' sees Blake and crew coming to the aid of the planet Albian, whose population are dying from radiation poisoning. In 'Voice from the Past', a telepathic signal forces Blake to reroute the Liberator to an asteroid where Travis lies in wait. Whilst 'Gambit' sees Blake, Cally and Jenna visit a gambling world to find the man who knows the location of the Federation's Star One. Avon and Villa, meanwhile, choose to take Orac on an illicit gambling spree. In 'The Keeper', Blake tries to obtain the key to Star One from a tribal chief on the planet Goth. However, Travis has beaten him to it. Finally, 'Star One' sees Blake at last launch his attack on the Federation's headquarters, unaware that an alien fleet is poised to invade.
